Cutlass Tool & MFG. Co. made these free wheeling hubs for "Jeep" vehicles. These could be ordered directly from the Willys dealer. The "automatic" feature seems to indicate that by manually positioning the two dials, the Jeep would be automatically engaged or disengaged without having to rock or move the vehicle.
