There has been a little discussion over at the Forward Forum about a three axle Forward Control 6X6. Some claim to have seen them while others wonder if they existed.

Well it seems possible that customizers have had their way with cutters and torches and have probably built such vehicles.

It seems, however, that Willys was considering just such a vehicle to add to their livery. Craig Brockhaus has posted an image from what appears to be a spiral bound designer's folder of a three-axle, ten-wheel truck based on the Forward Control design and designated the FC-190.

Additionally the FC-190 was to be equipped as follows:
16,000 pound Gross Vehicle Weight
Model 70 rear axles
Tandem axles made possible with new transfer case
Available with flat bed and V-8 engine only
Overall platform dimensions: 92.0" X 202.0"
Straight side rails of 9" channel section
Utilizes major components of Models FC-170 and FC-160
4-speed transmission standard equipment
Automatic transmission optional

The mention of the FC-160 in the above list makes me wonder if this wasn't a proposal for a new FC by Mahindra in India. Craig suggested to me that the engine was to displace 272 cubic inches and that the truck would be equipped with a tilt cab. Is there any more information out there?
