I have just saved from the scrap heap what (according to the register) is the forth remaining M-769. It is in a very bad way body wise but mechanically in good condition. The frame number is 10045 and has had the engine replaced with a Perkins diesel. There is a lot I need to know about the body dimensions and parts availability. I know Mahindra finished production of the FC160 in 1999 but as yet have been unable to contact them. Have you got any idea what the max rpm of the Cerlist was as the Perkins tops out at aprox 2600 rpm but I'm sure producing more bhp and torque (can't give you figures at mo). It has been sitting for the last 15 years or so. The roof has fallen in and driver's door has fallen off. Passenger door would fall off if I gave it some grief as would the rear doors. So you have some idea how bad the body is. It does drive though (but the throttle pedal has fallen through the floor!!!) I am not intending to restore it until late next year but need as much info as possible before I start. Where is the data plate as I have not found it as yet? I will leave you with this pic of how it was found (doesn't look to bad in the pic). Thanks.
