Tim Cronan's 1959 FC-150
I just got my second vehicle, a 1959 FC 150 ‚ 65548 ‚ 19040 and I thought I would add it to the FC Gallery and the FC Registry. I bought it on Saturday November 19, 2005 from a gentleman in Windsor CO. It has the OHV 4 cylinder and no extra equipment other than a functioning turn signal and a necker's knob. One bonus feature is all glass in stellar condition.
Just like my old CJ it has the self-lubricating chassis but I have already re-done the transmission and transfer case covers. My MPG will undoubtedly improve without the extra 15 lbs of grease and grime on the skid plates!
I also have a 1960 FC 170 undergoing restoration, I tossed in a picture of the motor to prove to myself as much as anything that I am making progress on the 170!.
Attached is a picture of me, the proud new owner with my cheeks sore from grinning all day after driving the vehicle home. I have many seeps and leaks to go through on the drive train, and all of the interior wiring, a starter, a headliner, and wipers to go through, but to have a running and driving FC is a total thrill. I took it to my hockey game Saturday night and the entire team came out to check it out at 1:00 a.m. when our game ended. What a hoot!
If I get the chance, I might have to help one of you fellows set up a Colorado FC Rally next year!
Thanks again for your dedication to your sites and also for giving a dork like me an outlet for my weird hobby! Cheers!
