Well yesterday I finally decided to do it, drive my FC150 to work. I usually make the 34 mile one way trip in a Cummins Diesel dually, heated seats, capable of three digit top speed. You get the picture. The FC has been relegated to short trips in the summer around the countryside where I live. So off I went with my full size stuffed Santa riding shotgun. I finally figured out how to get the heater to work. After a couple of miles I had a line of over a dozen cars backed up behind me on the rural roads I travel. Taking corners is another thing in a narrow track FC. If you take a corner too fast You feel like you might roll, if you go too slow it lugs because you can't shift back to first without stopping. I turned the radio off because with all the noise in the cab I couldn't hear it anyway. My shoulder was scrunched up against the side window which was starting to feel uncomfortable. Never have this proplem in the summer with the window open. Had to stay off the highway for the last leg of the trip 45 is just to slow when everyone else is going 75-80. One hour plus later I finally got to work. Checked the ground No leaks, Great! Of course I got nothing done all day everyone wanted to talk about the Jeep. Older customers had to tell me about the friend who had one, younger people just wondered what it is. Headed home early to travel in daylight. Amassed a line of cars behind me so long I couldn't see the end. Just me, my thoughts of another time when people worked harder and maybe were a little tougher than me and lots of noise. Made it home OK. When I climbed into bed around 11pm, my wife said "Why are you in such a good mood tonight?" I said "I don't know" Happy Holidays everyone and get those FCs rolling.
