My 1960 FC 170 currently has 95,000 miles on it. I am the third owner since new and I have had it for just over six years. I knew the second owner who had owned the truck for nearly 20 years. He drove the the truck three blocks daily to work in Seattle up until the day it quit on him. At that point he gave up on it and abandoned it. After several years of sitting I started asking him if he would sell it to me. Only after the property owner threatened to have it towed away did he offer to let me have the truck for free as long as I promised to get it moved.
I took him up on the offer and after several months of work I had the truck restored and looking good.
It has 95,000 miles on its original motor that has been rebuilt once. Three speed trans is original as is the 5.38 gearing. It has a Warn overdrive unit on it that lets me drive 60mph all day long if necessay. Front hubs are manual Warn units. Wheels are 16" original with Cooper CrossCountry non-directional tires fitted. Truck bed is original although I did have to replace several of the side panels due to rust. Front fender flairs are original shaped fiberglass from molds that I made off of an original set.
